Monday Morning Market

Every Monday morning we would get up early to go to the market and get our fresh produce for the week. Even after a tiring weekend, it was worth the busy morning. Beautiful stands piled high with delicious fruits and vegetables, cheeses and meats.

Plus, anything you would need from a general store - hair things, kitchen items, ribbon, fabric, shoes, clothes - you name it, they had it! A portable Italian Wal-Mart! And everything was so cheap! I miss paying 5 euro for a bag full of zucchini, tomatoes, oranges, kiwi...

I also miss shopping with the Italian ladies and seeing them pick out the best produce and chat with their friends.
