I Know Nothing...

...except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

Every church and museum has at least one portrait of Jesus on the Cross. Each is different, but all evoke emotion. It shows the emotion of Jesus and it causes the viewer to be reverent at the sight.

I recently listened to my college pastor who was going through a series, "The Bleeding Gospel." He challenged us by asking if the Gospel merits everything we do. Being merited by the Gospel means living every part of our lives in context to the Gospel - therefore, we would know nothing else - in a situation, relationship, decision, conversation - except Jesus and do everything in light of the Who He is and what He did for us.

During this season of Lent, I hope our desire is to know nothing in our lives apart from our Savior and what He did for us on the Cross.

"For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." 1 Corinthians 2:2
